Buying a Whole Steer

 

How it Works: 

 

Step One: Purchase one or more of the live steers listed below by submitting a $500 deposit. This is now your steer. 

  

Step Two: On the next scheduled slaughter date, we transport your steer to a licensed and inspected butcher facility for processing, which includes hanging and custom cut and wrap.

 

Step Three: You will be contacted by the butcher to discuss how you would like your steer cut and wrapped. They are very knowledgeable and will gladly provide explanation and recommendations if desired.

 

Step Four: We will notify you as soon as your custom cut and wrapped beef is ready for pickup (from our ranch) or delivery, and we will have a dollar total for you at this time. 

 

We like to KEEP IT SIMPLE! We pay the butcher, so you only ever have to worry about settling one account, and that's with us. We also pick up your beef from the butcher so you can get it right here at the ranch or we can deliver it to you.

You buy from us, you pickup or receive delivery from us.

 

You will only be billed for the actual pounds of beef that are cut and wrapped and end up in your freezer.

Example - You end up with 320lbs of cut and wrapped beef from your steer. We bill you $7.85/lb and your total bill will be $2512.00 (minus the $500 deposit already paid)

 

We don't bill the total in advance because we don't know for sure exactly how many pounds of beef your steer will give you. We can give a close estimate but we don't know for sure until it's been hung and then processed. Typically, with our Lowline Angus steers you can expect between 280lbs  - 320lbs of beef in your freezer. Soup bones and any offals you want (liver, kidneys, heart, tongue, etc.) would be in addition to that.

 

Next Processing Dates: Fall 2023

Your beef will be ready 14 - 21 days after the slaughter date.

 

Current price per pound: $7.85 (includes cut and wrap)
